What's New in SoundViz: A Clickable Waveform, Safer Recording, Bigger Prints and More
We spend a lot of time watching people make their first waveform: a wedding song, a voicemail, a baby's heartbeat. Every stumble we see becomes a fix. Here is what changed in the editor recently.
Click Your Waveform to Jump to Any Moment
Your waveform is now a scrubber. Click or drag anywhere on it and the audio jumps to that exact spot, in both linear and circular designs. A thin playhead line shows where you are, and you can scrub with the keyboard too. It is the quickest way to find the chorus you want the picture to be built around.
Recording That Tells You What It Hears
Recording a voice or a heartbeat is the most personal thing you can do here, so it should never fail silently.
- A live level meter moves while you record, so you know straight away if the wrong microphone is picked or it is muted.
- A heads-up after a very quiet take. If we barely heard anything, we say so and suggest checking your microphone before you design around a flat line.
- Works on iPhone and Android. Your browser's own recording format is used, so a voice memo recorded on an iPhone becomes a waveform just like one recorded on a laptop.
- A 10-minute limit. A recording left running stops by itself instead of growing forever.
Print Sizes That Keep Their Proportions
Choosing a print size (from 8x10 up to 24x36 inches) now rescales your bar width, spacing, padding and text to the new size, so your design looks the same, just larger. The style sliders also grow with the canvas, so on a big print you still have room to adjust instead of hitting the end of the slider straight away.
The Editor in French and German
The whole creation flow, now including the colour, style, title and dedication controls, reads naturally in French and German.
Samples Are for Trying, Your Audio Is for Ordering
The editor opens on a sample so you never face a blank canvas. To avoid printing a demo by accident, ordering and publishing now ask for your own audio first, with a clear note explaining why.
Share It, Animate It, Show It Off
- Video clips. Export a short animated clip for Reels, TikTok and Stories. Here is how.
- Circle designs. Try the sound wave circle generator for a round, sunburst-style layout.
- Animation. See how your wave moves with the sound wave animation generator.
- The community gallery. After you export while signed in, you can offer your design to the gallery, and your title is already filled in. Skip it once and we will not ask again in that session.
Try It
The best test is your own song. Open the SoundViz editor, upload a track or record a few seconds, and see it as a picture. Tell us what gets in your way. That is how most of the list above started.
